What cookies are and why we use them
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device so it can remember you between pages or between visits. We use them to keep the Claimradar website working properly, to understand how people move through it, and to show relevant content to people who might be interested in our rooms, suites and salon services.
Very similar technologies, such as local storage and pixels, do much the same job. Where this policy refers to cookies, it covers those technologies as well.
The categories we use
We group cookies into four categories so you can make a clear decision about each one.
- Strictly necessary. These make the site work. Without them, booking forms, security checks and the cookie banner itself would not function. They cannot be switched off through our banner.
- Functional. These remember choices you have made, such as language, preferred room type or whether you have already dismissed a message. They expire between one month and one year.
- Analytics. These help us see which pages are useful and which are not, in aggregate rather than individually. Typical retention is thirteen to twenty-six months.
- Marketing. These allow us and our partners to measure the results of campaigns and to avoid showing you the same advertisement repeatedly. They are only set if you accept them.
Specific cookies you may encounter
The following items are representative of what runs on the Claimradar site today. We review them regularly and this list is updated when something changes.
- A session identifier that keeps your booking form consistent while you complete it, expiring when you close your browser.
- A consent record that stores which categories you accepted, retained for six months so we do not ask you again on every visit.
- An analytics identifier used to count visits and distinguish unique browsers, retained for up to twenty-six months.
- A preference cookie that remembers the last room type you looked at, retained for thirty days.
Third parties and social media
Some content on our pages, such as maps, embedded video and social media buttons, is provided by other companies. Those companies may set their own cookies when that content loads, and their use of information is governed by their own policies rather than ours.
If you would prefer not to receive third-party cookies at all, you can block them in your browser settings. Some embedded content may then fail to display correctly.
How to control cookies
You can change your choices at any time using the cookie banner, which stays available from the link in our footer. You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings, and set your browser to warn you before a cookie is stored.
Instructions differ between browsers. Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge each explain the process in their own help pages. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will affect how the site works, and we cannot guarantee a booking form will complete without them.
Changes to this policy
When we add or remove a cookie category, or when a retention period changes, we update this page. If you have a question about a specific cookie you have spotted on our site, email claimradar@gmail.com with the cookie name and the page it appeared on, and we will tell you what it does.
